My NEC 920 is still working like a champ and had a decent battery life after quite a few years.
The pros about this phone are it still has acceptable reception in most areas, a loud ringer and not only does it service dropping but sitting in a pretty hot car most of the time and a not to bad battery life.
I don't have a good reason to retire this phone that is why I am replacing the battery and not the phone.

My husband and I both have NEC Talk Time 920 phones. These are your "basic" phones but they are great. We have owned them for quite a number of years and are more than satisfied with their performance. These phones sit in our cars in all types of weather and this is the first time we need to replace the batteries. We have no reason to replace the phone that is why we are purchasing new batteries.
