The standard lithium ion battery provides 900 milliamps of power. This battery is backed with a one year warranty. Manufactured by a third party for the Audiovox phones. Meets/ exceeds OEM standards.
The Audiovox CDM8600 has proven to be quite sturdy and reliable I've dropped it at least 15 times as well as cracked the outer LCD by running into a table corner and it still works great. Tri-mode seems to give better signal strength than newer or more expensive phones despite its age and rel small size. The voice dial sometimes doesn't recognize even clearly spoken commands easily. Due to battery size it has a rel short talk time 2hrs but it's very portable if you don’t mind small keys and display very solid choice
Audiovox CDM8600 Worked For A While, Then Everything Broke At Once, December 3rd

Very hard to use (you have to scroll through several screens to get to anything useful), it tries to auto-complete text messages (agets it totally wrong and won't let you delete one letter at a time), the phone book is hard to use. Battery life was good, reception was good. Then the screen starting going black (it was on, just glowing black) occasionally. Within a week it wouldn't turn on at all (just lit black). The volume button doesn't work. The battery lasts a few hours. It misses calls.

The CDM8600 has done well for me. It is now over 3 yrs old, has traveled around the country and never fails to work well. I use it as a modem for my laptop when on the road.
